Be a part of our global movement
MAPW is the Australian affiliate of 1985 Nobel PeacePrize Laureate International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW)
IPPNW is a non-partisan federation of national medical groups in over 60 countries, representing tens of thousands of doctors, medical students, and other health workers. Founded by US and Russian physicians in 1980, IPPNW is credited with raising public awareness about the devastating effects of nuclear weapons.
Today, IPPNW’s mission is to address the public health dimensions of armed conflict in all its aspects.
MAPW members are eligible to participate in IPPNW activities and governance at national, regional, and international levels.
