ACT
The Australian Capital Territory branch meets regularly to plan local events and contribute to national campaigns. MAPW ACT runs a fundraising dinner each year, featured speakers have included journalist Paul Daley, lawyer and whistleblower David McBride, and academic Prof Clinton Fernandes.
Past events also include actions in support of MAPW’s Reclaim Remembrance campaign, refugee justice, climate action, protection for whistleblowers and much more!

New South Wales
The New South Wales branch welcomes new members. Members meet semi-regularly and work closely with groups like Doctors Reform Society, the Australia West Papua Association, Raising Peace, Peace Museums, ICAN and more.

South Australia
The South Australian branch of MAPW meets regularly and welcomes all members. The SA branch runs events to raise funds and awareness on key issues, and participates in actions to advance MAPW’s mission.
Past events have included seminars on the links between peace and climate and tensions in the Indo-Pacific; presentations, in partnership with the Australian Red Cross, on the abolition of nuclear weapons; events to mark Hiroshima Day, International Day of Peace, ANZAC day – and much more!

Tasmania
The Tasmania branch of MAPW meets monthly and is active on key issues, including the abolition of nuclear weapons and the intrusion of weapons companies into education.
MAPW Tasmania members represent MAPW at public events, and organise with groups like Women in Black, Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, and IPAN.

Victoria
The Victoria branch of MAPW meets monthly and is active in state and national campaigns. MAPW Vic members regularly give lectures and seminars on key issues, represent MAPW at public events, conduct student and young doctor outreach, and hold dinners and other events to raise funds and support for MAPW.
Past events have included a seminar on possibilities for peace in Myanmar, ‘Singing for Peace’ on Hiroshima Day, trivia night, art show, and much more.

Western Australia
The Western Australia branch of MAPW meets regularly and welcomes new members.
MAPW WA works with local partners to build support for the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons and to advance MAPW’s mission.
MAPW WA has active student membership, and regularly holds events on university campus.
Past events have included a sundowner to celebrate the entry into force of the treaty, a live international forum to mark the first meeting of treaty states parties, fundraising events and social gatherings.
