
Yesterday at Parliament House, MAPW, Doctors for the Environment Australia and the Public Health Association of Australia briefed parliamentarians and their offices on the multiple health risks associated with nuclear power.
Our VP told parliamentarians:
“Informed consent matters when it comes to nuclear reactors. There are significant health risks for communities, even when reactors are operating normally. These risks are worse for children. Rates of childhood leukemia are more than double if you live within 5 km of a nuclear reactor.“
