Australian and international artists stand up for human rights in this exhibition addressing peace, war, violence, homelessness, Indigenous issues, refugees and violence in our society.
These artworks speak for a better society and against a desensitising which the curator and participating artist, William Kelly OAM, believes underpins the rhetoric, public pronouncements and laws made by our politicians. The end effect is that we are more likely to accept our chronic participation in war.
Featured artists include Michael Leunig, Godwin Bradbeer, Mirka Mora, Shaun Tan, Annie Franklin, Nick Ut, Gunter Grass, Vaclav Havel, Laila Rahman, Jacob Landau and Melbourne-based street artist Meek.
A partnership project with Monash Art Design & Architecture and City of Melbourne.
Launch: Thursday 9 November, 6pm.
