"Japanese artist Isao Hashimoto has created a beautiful, undeniably scary time-lapse map of the 2053 nuclear explosions which have taken place between 1945 and 1998, beginning with the Manhattan Project's "Trinity" test near Los Alamos and concluding with Pakistan's nuclear tests in May of 1998".

The eighth annual Lowy Institute Poll reports the results of a nationally representative opinion survey of 1,005 Australian adults conducted in Australia between 26 March and 10 April 2012 using mobile and landline telephones. It also reports the results of a parallel survey conducted in New Zealand. The poll shows mixed results.

It is headed by the Executive Secretary, Tibor Tóth from Hungary. The CTBTO’s main tasks are the promotion of the Treaty and the build-up of the verification regime so that it is operational when the Treaty enters into force.

Oz Minerals AGM: MAPW media release slams junk science

An MAPW media release issued on the day of the Oz Minerals Annual General Meeting slams uranium miner Toro Energy over junk science, which could put workers at increased risk. Toro Energy is 40% owned by Oz Minerals. Toro plans to mine uranium at Wiluna in WA.
