MAPW continues to play major role in international body

NEW DELHI: Australia's leading role in IPPNWi, the global organisation campaigning against nuclear and other weapons, was recognised yesterday with the election of MAPW's Tilman Ruff to the IPPNWi Board. Dr Ruth Mitchell is also on the board as a representative of the South East Asia and Pacific Region. MAPW also was awarded 3rd place in a competition for the best display at the three-day IPPNWi World Congress.

IPPNWi's International Council approved detailed plans to continue and expand their work on the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons, along with a continuing focus on reducing the violence caused by small arms.
