Australian students speak at opening of Delhi meeting

NEW DELHI: Australian medical students were strongly represented at the opening of the IPPNWi international Student Congress this morning. Outgoing International Student Representative Ruth Mitchell, a recent graduate of Flinders Medical School (SA) welcomed 200 students from around the world.

Marcus Yip, also from Adelaide, reported back as one of the 70 students who had travelled on a Peace March from Amritsar to Delhi, speaking about peace and the need to abolish nuclear weapons to receptive audiences along the way. Students from Pakistan, who had faced difficulties getting visas to attend the meeting, received a particularly warm welcome.
