The Sydney Peace Prize 2010 has been awarded to Dr. Vandana Shiva for continuing to draw vital connections between gender,development, and the environment. A physicist, philospher, activist, feminist and world leader for peace, Dr. Shivas activism is founded on her analysis of connections between golbalised development and ruination. The award was announced just as Shiva’s book 'Staying Alive: Women, Ecology and Survival in India' was re-released by Spinifex Press with a new introduction.

There will be opportunities to hear Vandana whilst she is in Sydney.
