Hazards of selling Australian uranium to India

Julia Gillard's visit to India this week is expected to try to pave the way for Australian uranium sales to India. MAPW has consistently opposed the sale of uranium to India, which is not a signatory of the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty and has refused to sign the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty.

MAPW submission on extension of nuclear power treaty

MAPW submission to the Joint Standing Committee on Treaties in regard to the proposed extension of the 1987 Regional Co-operative Agreement for Research, Development and Training Related to Nuclear Science and Technology. The submission protests against the signing of such a treaty, particularly with states which have not signed the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty.
